I actually started a whole post about our new house but I got bored importing photos and it never was submitted. Now I'm at work without anything to do but all of the photos are in my laptop at home. What to do, what to do? Post ideas! The bedroom is officially the most complete room in the new house at the moment, so I will post pictures of stuff I either already have or want to get. Let me know what you think!
Paint color (via Lovely Design)
This is the paint color I used on the walls. This woman kindly posted her custom color mix online so that everyone can have perfect vintage map paint if they want it. I love her design sense (did I just write "design sense"? I read way too many home magazines). Check out her studio!
Yellow and white runner from IKEA, one to go on each side of the bed
I tentatively planned an IKEA trip for this weekend, but I'll probably be flying solo as the boy vehemently hates IKEA. It was the centimeter measurements on the picture frames that did him in. :) Friggin' Europeans. Speaking of IKEA...
The small bedroom TV will go on this, along with a vintage globe light (see below) that I want to get on eBay. (I'm totally stealing ideas from Lovely Design again). We'll probably store extra blankets inside.
Vintage world globe light on Ebay
I really want one of these. I loved looking at my mom's old globe when I was little, giving it a good spin, touching my finger to it, and wherever it stopped, I planned to go. The middle of the ocean was a popular destination in 1987. Mom, can I have that old globe?
Vintage train case for jewelry storage (picture via Poppy Talk)
I was storing all my jewelry in various little bowls on top of my dresser, but I didn't like the dust that collected on it. I've always loved train cases so I thought that would be ideal as a storage option, although I plan to leave my necklaces on hooks to prevent tangling. While searching for a good image for the blog, I came across this post above of a woman who collects them (we have that Gomez butteryfly poster too!) I've had a hard time choosing a color from all of the cases on eBay, so maybe I'll become a collector too. ;)
My IKEA craft desk
Inspiration (via Apartment Therapy/EmmaRose Papery)
This looks like my IKEA desk (top), but mine has different trestle legs. The inspiration picture is already semi-copied on my craft desk at home with the metal bin on top and the task lamp, but I love all the storage underneath. My desk will have to move into the bedroom since our new place is a lot smaller than the rental, but I hope I can achieve the same organized chaos/private nook feel of the picture above.
Artist Stool (from Pottery Barn)
I would like a stool similar to this for my desk. This one is too expensive but I do like the way the red pops against those blue walls. I also love how the artist's tools function as decoration.
I better wrap it up since I'll be leaving work pretty soon. We ran out of work at 9 am this morning. It's going to be a long summer. Have a great 4th, everyone! Eat some meat!
P.S. Hi, MP! Say hi to all the boys down at eXo for me! I'll get around to replying to your email, uh, some time. :)
